The news of Neo-Soul pioneer and R&B singer D\u2019Angelo\u2019s<\/a> death continues to spread and now, fellow heavyweights in the music industry and Hollywood at-large are sharing their heartfelt memories and tributes. From folks like Jamie Foxx to rappers like Missy Elliot, the loss of the beloved singer is being felt far and wide.<\/p>\n As we previously told you, <\/a>the \u201cAnother Life\u201d singer\u2019s passing was confirmed by his family on Tuesday (Oct. 14) who revealed that death came after a \u201cprolonged\u201d battle with pancreatic cancer.<\/p>\n \u201cWe are saddened that he can only leave dear memories with his family,\u00a0but we are eternally grateful for the legacy of extraordinarily moving music\u00a0he leaves behind,\u201d the family wrote.<\/p>\n Now, peers and other music artists and actors are speaking out in honor of the \u201cOne Mo\u2019Gin\u201d singer and revealing some of their fondest memories of D\u2019Angelo\u2019s songs and impact.<\/p>\n In a post to Instagram,<\/a> Jamie Foxx penned: \u201cI remember hearing your music for the first time\u2026 I said to myself damn whoever this is they are anointed\u2026 Then when I finally got a chance to see you\u2026 Like everyone when they saw the most incredible music video of our time\u2026 I was blown away\u2026 I thought to myself I have to see this person in concert\u2026 I had my chance to see you at the house of blues\u2026 You came out and got right down to business\u2026 Your voice was silky and flawless\u2026 I was graciously envious of your style and your swag.<\/p>\n Foxx continued by saying he was crying \u201creal tears\u201d after discovering God took one of \u201chis special creations home\u201d and that the loss \u201churts like hell.\u201d<\/p>\n Rapper Tyler the Creator also posted a lengthy post to Instagram<\/a>, telling a story of how he bought D\u2019Angelo\u2019s sophomore album \u201cVoodoo\u201d album for his ninth birthday when he was younger. The singer\u2019s firs project, \u201cBrown Sugar\u201d was already in regular rotation at his home.<\/p>\n \u201cI couldn\u2019t understand how someone could write something so simple but personal but broad but genius. thats how special he was. a savant. a true alien,\u201d Tyler wrote.<\/a> \u201cI am so lucky to have gotten my copy of VOODOO when i did. we are so lucky to have been alive to enjoy his art. my musical dna was helped shaped by this man. forever grateful. safe travels[sic].\u201d<\/p>\n Rapper Missy Elliot also shared similar sentiments, writing in a post<\/a> to X\/Twitter: \u201cRest Peacefully D\u2019Angelo. No parent want to see their children go but it\u2019s painful for children to see their parents go to so send prayers up for his son who also lost his mom this year for strength.\u201d<\/p>\n Beyonc\u00e9 took a minute to post a tribute<\/a> to the \u201cCruisin\u2019\u201d singer on her website, writing in part: \u201cWe thank you for your beautiful, your voice, your proficiency on the piano, your artistry, you were the pioneer of neo-soul and that changed and transformed rhythm & blues forever. We will never forget you.\u201d<\/p>\n CHIC\u2019s Nile Rodgers reflected on the first time he met D\u2019Angelo and heard his music in a post to X\/Twitter,<\/a> explaining that his friend brough him over because he was unsure of what to do with the music he had.<\/p>\n \u201cI listened to every cut\u2026not just out of respect but because it was smoking. At the end of the encounter he asked me, \u2018What should I do with it?\u2019 I remember this as if it were yesterday. I said, \u2018Put it out. It\u2019s perfect!\u2019 Being the #artist he is, I guess he had to explore some ways to make it better,\u201d Rodgers shared.<\/p>\n He concluded: \u201cA year later I heard one of those songs on the radio.
