Steven Soderbergh<\/a> is continuing to open about about his Adam Driver<\/a>-starring scrapped \u201cStar Wars<\/a>\u201d movie \u201cThe Hunt for Ben Solo.\u201d In a new interview with Bk Mag, the Oscar-winning filmmaker said \u201cit was no surprise\u201d to read Kathleen Kennedy<\/a>\u2019s Lucasfilm<\/a> exit interview and hear about her frustrations over Disney\u2019s axing of \u201cThe Rise of Skywalker\u201d follow-up movie, which would\u2019ve brought Driver<\/a> back as the fan-favorite Kylo Ren\/Ben Solo.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe were all frustrated,\u201d Soderbergh said. \u201cYou know, that was two and a half years of free work for me and Adam and [writer] Rebecca Blunt<\/a>. When Adam and I discussed him talking about it publicly, I said, \u2018Look, do not editorialize or speculate about the why. Just say what happened, because all we know is what happened.\u2019 The stated reason was, \u2018We don\u2019t think Ben Solo could be alive.\u2019 And that was all we were told.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
