Six months after their first date in Montreal<\/a>, Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau<\/a> are more than just casually dating, a source told Entertainment Tonight<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cKaty and Justin have gotten much more serious,\u201d the insider explained. \u201cHe is supportive of her and encouraging, and she feels confident about herself with him.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u2060The source added that Trudeau has really won Perry over: \u201cJustin came into Katy\u2019s life at the perfect time. She is smitten with him.\u201d<\/p>\n

Perry and Trudeau were first seen together<\/a> in July 2025. The singer had announced her separation<\/a> from ex-fianc\u00e9 Orlando Bloom weeks before. At the time, love wasn\u2019t on her radar. As a source told People <\/em>in October<\/a>, \u201cWhen she first hung out with Justin, she wasn\u2019t looking to date, but they stayed in touch. They have many shared interests and a lot of talk about, but Katy was navigating too many things to even think about dating then.\u201d<\/p>\n

But Trudeau, who was \u201cvery respectful,\u201d the source said, still pursued her.<\/p>\n

Fast-forward to December, and a source told People<\/em><\/a> that the former Canadian prime minister\u2019s efforts worked. \u201cThe only reason this turned into something real is because Justin has been so persistent,\u201d the source explained. \u201cShe wasn\u2019t looking to date when they first hung out, and she certainly wasn\u2019t looking for a boyfriend.\u201d<\/p>\n

Their love story was an \u201cexciting surprise\u201d to Perry, the insider added: \u201cHe\u2019s shown her over and over again that he genuinely wants to see her. He\u2019s flown all over the world to spend time with her while she toured. She likes spending time with him. She\u2019s flattered that he\u2019s made such a big effort, and she\u2019s excited to be dating him.\u201d<\/p>\n

Perry hasn\u2019t hidden her feelings for Trudeau on social media, either. The singer has shared multiple new photos with him in the new year.
