Priyanka Chopra is all set for her return to Indian cinema screens with SS Rajamouli\u2019s Varanasi<\/i>, which she says could be \u201creally career-defining\u201d.<\/p>\n

When this highly anticipated project marks the 43-year-old\u2019s comeback after six long years, it is also her debut in the Telugu film industry<\/p>\n

Speaking to AP, the Dostana<\/i> actress praised director SS Rajamouli, who is helming the epic action film Varanasi.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cThe filmmaker\u2019s name is SS Rajamouli, sir, and he is one of the best that we have in India. His movie is going to be really career-defining for me, I think. I am very excited about it,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

The film marks her return to the Indian film industry after 2019.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Don 2<\/i>\u00a0 star plays Mandakini in the big-budget spectacle, which also stars Mahesh Babu as Rudhra and Prithviraj Sukumaran as the antagonist Kumbha.<\/p>\n

In an earlier interview with Variety<\/i>, she described the project as \u201cunlike anything\u201d she has ever done.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cWe travel from like Antarctica to \u2026 And just the worlds that he creates are so larger than life,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Priyanka also revealed she had one condition before signing the film: \u201cI was like, \u2018Listen, I\u2019m coming back to Indian movies. I have to do a dance song. Like you have to make me dance.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

The film\u2019s title was unveiled at a massive Hyderabad event attended by nearly 50,000 fans.\u00a0<\/p>\n

A teaser showed sweeping visuals from Antarctica to ancient India, ending with Mahesh Babu riding a bull through Varanasi. This action drama is set for release on 7 April 2027.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
