Jonny Greenwood<\/a> has provided an unclear update on the future of new music for Radiohead, admitting that he has \u201cno idea\u201d whether a new album is on the cards.<\/p>\n

In a new interview, <\/em>the multi-instrumentalist reflected on the recent Radiohead tour, which saw the iconic band play four-night residencies in Madrid, Bologna, London, Copenhagen, and Berlin.<\/p>\n

At the shows, the band pulled from an eclectic, wide-ranging repertoire. Johnny\u2019s brother, Colin Greenwood, who is also in the band, described this as a \u201cbusking attitude\u201d before the tour began, sharing<\/a>, \u201cWe\u2019ll play anything in any order, at any time. We sort of take a busking attitude to the Radiohead setlist.\u201d<\/p>\n

Referencing this, Greenwood shared in the new interview with The Times<\/a><\/em>, \u201cIt was great to revisit songs that we always felt were good and to find lots of other people now agree with us.\u201d<\/p>\n

He added, \u201cAnd it was really nice to be playing and listening to Thom [Yorke] again. But I found it strange not to be doing anything new on the tour. I guess we are all doing new music elsewhere now, so that\u2019s where our creative energies are going.\u201d<\/p>\n

Asked specifically whether a new Radiohead album is likely, Greenwood admitted candidly: \u201cI have no idea.\u201d<\/p>\n

He went on, \u201cI mean, I\u2019m surprised that the tour actually happened and that we all enjoyed it so much. But venues get booked so far in advance. To do another, we would have to decide now, and even then it wouldn\u2019t happen for 18 months.\u201d<\/p>\n

When announcing Radiohead\u2019s first tour in seven years, the band maintained this air of mystery, sharing at the time, \u201cFor now, it will just be these [live dates], but who knows where this will all lead.<\/a>\u201d<\/p>\n

Greenwood has plenty of other projects on the go to keep him busy. Currently, his score for Paul Thomas Anderson\u2019s One Battle After Another <\/em>is up for a \u2018Best Original Score\u2019 at next month\u2019s Oscars, marking his third ever nomination.<\/p>\n
