To complete the trilogy, it will take 20 overall tracks. Like the first two albums <em><a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/savingcountrymusic.com\/album-review-charley-crocketts-lonesome-drifter\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Lonesome Drifter<\/a><\/em> (March, 2025) and <em><a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/savingcountrymusic.com\/album-review-charley-crocketts-dollar-a-day\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Dollar A Day<\/a><\/em> (August, 2025), the new album is co-produced by Crockett with Shooter, including the 19th track on the album \u201cMe and Shooter.\u201d <\/p><p>Though 20 tracks might sound like a lot, five of the tracks are marked as \u201cthemes,\u201d with three making reference to Billy McLane, who has been the main protagonist throughout the <em>Sagebrush Trilogy<\/em>, and two named \u201cRancho Deluxe.\u201d With some of these tracks featuring short run times, these are likely to be recurring instrumental beds to give the album a more thematic or cinematic feel. In fact, quite a few of the tracks have shorter run times. <\/p><p>Charley Crockett\u2019s last album <em>Dollar A Day<\/em> included one of these instrumental theme tracks, appropriately titled \u201cAge Of The Ram,\u201d making it a precursor to the new album. The cinematic, Western flair of <em>Dollar A Day<\/em> worked in Crockett\u2019s favor, landing him a nomination for the Grammy\u2019s Best Traditional Country Album.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"350\" height=\"350\" src=\"https:\/\/savingcountrymusic.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/charley-crockett-age-of-the-ram.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-232056\" srcset=\"https:\/\/savingcountrymusic.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/charley-crockett-age-of-the-ram.jpg 350w, https:\/\/savingcountrymusic.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/charley-crockett-age-of-the-ram-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/savingcountrymusic.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/charley-crockett-age-of-the-ram-150x150.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 350px) 100vw, 350px\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p><br\/>No lengthy press release coincided with his announcement on social media. But with track names such as \u201cLonesome Dove,\u201d \u201cI Shot Jesse James,\u201d \u201cFastest Gun Alive,\u201d and \u201cPowder River,\u201d there\u2019s a good chance it will have Western flavor once again. We\u2019ll also have to see if the track \u201cLow Down Freedom\u201d is the same song that Waylon Jennings cut originally authored by Billy Joe Shaver. <\/p><p>Crockett did say in a post <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/charleycrockett.substack.com\/p\/0aa61042-1dee-4f60-a104-2c7ba9e9996e?updated=2026-02-18T16%3A27%3A31.567Z&amp;postPreview=paid&amp;sub=free&amp;device=mobile&amp;audience=everyone&amp;free_preview=false&amp;freemail=true\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">on Substack<\/a>, \u201cThe <em>Sagebrush Trilogy<\/em>\u00a0has always been about a man trying to find his name in this world. <em>Lonesome Drifter<\/em>\u00a0was the wanderer. Boots full of highway dust, chasing a song and a dollar. <em>Dollar A Day<\/em>\u00a0was the rustler. A man learning what hunger will make you do. Now the\u00a0<em>Age of the Ram<\/em>\u00a0tells the story of the outlaw. The kind that don\u2019t set out to be a legend, but winds up one anyway.\u201d<\/p><p>What we do have is the debut single from the album called \u201cKentucky Too Long,\u201d along with the accompanying lyric video definitely not shot in Kentucky (see below).
