Authorities are using various methods to track down Nancy Guthrie\u2019s suspected abductor.<\/p>\n
NBC News\u2019s Liz Kreutz has remained in Tucson, Arizona, as the investigation<\/a> into Savannah Guthrie<\/a>\u2018s mom\u2019s disappearance continues, giving Today<\/a><\/em> fans the latest updates every morning on the NBC morning show. In her latest report<\/a> on the show\u2019s Thursday, February 19, episode, Kreutz revealed that authorities are canvassing local gun stores in hopes of finding suspects.<\/p>\n Previously released footage and photos<\/a> from Nancy\u2019s home security cameras showed a masked suspect carrying what appears to be a gun in a holster around their waist. According to Kreutz, officials have presented local gun shop owners with \u201ca list of names and photos\u201d to try to identify the weapon and its \u201cunusual holster.\u201d<\/p>\n Later in the broadcast, Kreutz said one gun shop owner told NBC News that the list was three to four pages long and contained photos of \u201cyoung to middle-aged men.\u201d Neither of the two owners believe they sold the alleged suspect\u2019s weapon.<\/p>\n On Today<\/em>, Kreutz also revealed that the unknown DNA found<\/a> at Nancy\u2019s home is a \u201cmixture of DNA,\u201d which can take a while to process. Investigators will use genetic genealogy to identify who the DNA belongs to by using public DNA databases to build a \u201cfamily tree\u201d that could trace back to the suspect.<\/p>\n
