A cancer awareness TV special aired in place of the Fox reality TV show on Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET.<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s why the swap happened.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"presto-h2 wp-block-heading\">Why was &#8216;The Masked Singer&#8217; not on last night?<\/h2>\n<p>&#8220;The Masked Singer&#8221; didn&#8217;t air on Wednesday, Feb. 18, due to a planned hiatus for the week, <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/ew.com\/why-the-masked-singer-isnt-on-tonight-when-it-will-be-back-11908074\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Entertainment Weekly reported<\/a>. Fox had initially planned to air a prior episode from season 14, but swapped this for the two-hour cancer awareness special &#8220;The Real Full Monty,&#8221; the magazine reported.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"presto-h2 wp-block-heading\">What is &#8216;The Real Full Monty&#8217;?<\/h2>\n<p>&#8220;The Real Full Monty&#8221; follows several well-known male celebrities as they undergo a journey to learn a high-energy striptease dance performed before a live audience, according to a Fox press release.<\/p>\n<p>The TV special was inspired by the award-winning 1997 film, &#8220;The Full Monty.&#8221; It originally aired in December 2024.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"presto-h2 wp-block-heading\">Why did &#8216;The Real Full Monty&#8217; air last night?<\/h2>\n<p>Fox aired &#8220;The Real Full Monty&#8221; last night as a tribute to actor <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/life\/health-wellness\/2025\/08\/07\/james-van-der-beek-colorectal-cancer\/85546100007\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">James Van Der Beek<\/a>, <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/entertainment\/celebrities\/2026\/02\/11\/james-van-der-beek-dead-death-cancer-dawsons-creek\/86345578007\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">who died on Feb. 11<\/a> at age 48 after battling colorectal cancer. The special&#8217;s mission is to raise awareness for cancer testing and research and encourage others to get tested early. During the show, each celebrity shares how cancer has personally impacted his life.
