The Princess Royal was forced to cancel a planned visit to a
\nNorth East hospital on Thursday after adverse weather conditions
\nprevented her helicopter from flying, Buckingham Palace has
\nsaid.<\/p>\n
Princess Anne had been due to travel to Middlesbrough in her
\ncapacity as Patron of the Royal College of Occupational Therapists.
\nShe was scheduled to mark the 20th anniversary of South Tees
\nOccupational Therapy at James Cook University Hospital, part of
\nSouth Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.<\/p>\n
A Buckingham Palace spokesperson said: \u201cDue to adverse weather
\nconditions preventing the helicopter from flying The Princess Royal
\nhas had to cancel the visit today.\u201d<\/p>\n
The cancellation came on the same day that Anne\u2019s brother,
\nAndrew Mountbatten-Windsor, was arrested on suspicion of misconduct
\nin public office. He has since been released under investigation
\nand has not been charged.<\/p>\n
Thames Valley Police confirmed that searches at Wood Farm on the
\nSandringham Estate in Norfolk have concluded, while inquiries at
\nRoyal Lodge in Windsor are ongoing. The investigation relates to
\nallegations that sensitive information may have been shared with
\nthe late financier Jeffrey Epstein during Andrew\u2019s tenure as a UK
\ntrade envoy. He has consistently denied wrongdoing.<\/p>\n
Andrew, who was stripped of his honorary military titles and
\nroyal patronages last year, has been living at Sandringham after
\nmoving from Royal Lodge. Legal proceedings became active at the
\npoint of his arrest, and any decision on whether charges will be
\nbrought rests with the Crown Prosecution Service.<\/p>\n
Despite Thursday\u2019s weather-related cancellation, the Princess
\nRoyal has maintained a typically busy programme in recent weeks.
\nKnown as one of the hardest-working members of the Royal Family,
\nshe has continued to undertake engagements across the country,
\nincluding a recent visit to a prison where she met staff and
\noffenders involved in rehabilitation and skills programmes.<\/p>\n
Her scheduled visit to Middlesbrough was intended to highlight
\nthe contribution of occupational therapists within the NHS and to
\ncelebrate two decades of service at the South Tees unit.<\/p>\n
Buckingham Palace has not indicated whether the hospital
