The Olympic champion, who lives in and competes for his mother’s country of Sweden, set his latest record at the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo with a jump that cleared 6.30 meters, or 20 feet 8 inches.\u00a0<\/p>\n
That feat came on the heels of other accomplishments for Duplantis, like his engagement to Swedish model Desir\u00e9 Inglander. The 26-year-old athlete, acknowledged as the best pole vaulter in the world, is also a skilled golfer\u00a0\u2014 and in his free time, he may have what it takes to become a pop star as well.<\/p>\n
On Feb. 20, SVT Play, a Swedish streaming service, released Duplantis’s performance of the song “Feeling Myself” for a live audience. As a singer, he has a sooth, laid-back style that mirrors his confidence on the track\u00a0\u2014 and Duplantis has more songs where that came from. He has released two singles in Sweden, “Bop” and “4L,” with “Bop” rising to number 31 on the Swedish singles chart.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
Duplantis was named “World Athlete of the Year” in November after becoming the first men’s pole vaulter to go undefeated for two years\u00a0\u2014 and it’s clear he’s not ready to slow down any time soon.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
