And in a new interview with\u00a0<i>CBS Mornings<\/i>, Hilary confirmed her fans were right.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div id=\"\">\n<p>When asked by correspondent Anthony Mason if she wrote \u201cWe Don\u2019t Talk\u201d about Haylie, Hilary answered, \u201cYeah, it is. It\u2019s definitely about my sister, and just \u2014 absolutely the most lonely part of my existence is not having my sister in my life at the moment.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In the song, Duff sings, &#8220;&#8216;Cause we come from the same home, the same blood \/ A different combination, but the same lock \/<br \/>People ask me how you&#8217;re doing, I wanna say amazing \/ But the truth is that I don&#8217;t know\/ What I always end up saying is \/\u00a0How we don&#8217;t talk, we don&#8217;t talk, talk about it \/\u00a0We don&#8217;t talk about anything anymore.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Duff explained\u00a0that she\u00a0\u201creally struggled\u201d with including such a personal song on her album, but decided to go through with it after\u00a0receiving positive feedback from \u201cso many people\u201d that shared the same experience.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s my truth,\u201d Duff said. \u201cIt was honestly healing to say. It\u2019s hard to watch your life unfold on the internet sometimes with talking heads on TikTok speculating \u2026 sometimes they\u2019re wrong, and sometimes they\u2019re right. All of that is a crazy thing to process.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Duff added that she&#8217;s not sure if Haylie hearing the song will change much, saying \u201cI don\u2019t think that that would help. I think I have to just exist as a person on my own and do what I want to do. I hope that for everyone that is where I\u2019m sitting, you have to do what you want to do.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s taken me a lot of time to get there and to live that way and to not care what the noise is gonna be around it and just be me,\u201d she continued. \u201cI don\u2019t know if she\u2019ll hear it, I don\u2019t know how she\u2019ll react to it.
