\n\tTaylor Schilling<\/a> has been tapped as the lead of NBC<\/a>\u2018s crime drama procedural pilot What The Dead Know<\/a>, <\/em>from Wolf Entertainment<\/a> and Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group.<\/p>\n \n\tWritten by Beth Rinehart (FBI: Most Wanted<\/em>), the project is based on former New York City medical examiner Barbara Butcher\u2019s memoir What the Dead Know<\/em>.<\/p>\n \n\tWhat the Dead Know<\/em> centers on highly intelligent, hyper-vigilant death Investigator Ava Ledger (Schilling) who is really good with dead bodies. It\u2019s the living that give her trouble. The series follows Ava as she teams with the NYPD to solve their toughest cases.<\/p>\n \n\tRinehart executive produces with Wolf Entertainment\u2019s Dick Wolf, Tom Thayer, Peter Jankowski and Anastasia Puglisi. Kevin Plunkett, Rebecca McGill and Butcher co-executive produce. Fred Berner is director\/executive producer. <\/p>\n \n\tSchilling, best known for her Emmy-nominated role on Netflix\u2019s Orange is the New Black<\/em>, recently did an arc on Season 2 of Rian Johnson\u2019s anthological Peacock series Poker Face. <\/em>She also starred in an episode of Howard Gordon\u2019s Fox anthology series Accused.<\/em><\/p>\n \n\tAdditionally, Schilling starred in Jason Katims\u2019 Apple TV series Dear Edward<\/em> opposite Connie Britton, and in the independent film Queen of Bones <\/em>opposite Martin Freeman, Julia Butters and Jacob Tremblay.
