Following his arrest on
\nThursday morning, Andrew was taken to Norfolk\u2019s Aylsham Police Station.<\/p>\n

While police would never be
\nexpected to release details about the 11 hours he was held at the
\nstation, there are plenty of details we can glean from standard procedure after
\nan arrest. <\/p>\n

At the station, the custody
\nsergeant would have been responsible for verifying he was indeed the suspect. They would have also checked if he was in a fit state, physically and mentally, to
\nbe booked in.<\/p>\n

Andrew would have had his rights
\nread to him – this includes regular breaks for food and to go to the toilet, and
\n the right to tell someone where he is.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s likely he would then
\nhave had this mugshot, fingerprints and DNA taken.<\/p>\n

Andrew would then have had to
\ndecide whether to seek advice from the 24\/7 local duty solicitor while he
\nwaited for his preferred criminal lawyer, assuming he has one, to arrive.<\/p>\n

While it\u2019s of course highly
\nunusual for a local lawyer to deal with a royal like this, these people are
\nexperts in helping suspects in the first hours of arrest.<\/p>\n

His cell would have come with
\na toilet, and he would have been given the offer of bedding.<\/p>\n

Given how long he was held,
\nhe would likely have received two meals.<\/p>\n

Aylsham Police Station was noted in
\na recent inspection for having more reading material for suspects than others,
\nfor them to while away the hours in their cell. <\/p>\n
