A24<\/a> and Lionsgate<\/a> each brought a newcomer to the Friday box office with \u201cHow to Make a Killing<\/a>\u201d and \u201cI Can Only Imagine<\/a> 2.\u201d However, they were unable to usurp the No. 1 spot. from last week\u2019s champion, \u201cWuthering Heights<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cHow to Make a Killing<\/a>\u201d landed at No. 4 on its opening day, grossing $1.6 million from 1,625 North American theaters. Rivals have the comedy thriller pulling in $3.2 million by Sunday. Directed by \u201cEmily the Criminal<\/a>\u201d filmmaker John Patton Ford<\/a>, \u201cHow to Make a Killing<\/a>\u201d follows Glen Powell<\/a> as Becket Redfellow, a vengeful man who decides to kill his way through his estranged family in order to claim an exuberant inheritance. Other cast members include Margaret Qualley<\/a>, Ed Harris<\/a>, Jessica Henwick<\/a>, Topher Grace<\/a> and Zach Woods<\/a>. The film is a loose adaptation of the 1949 black comedy \u201cKind Hearts and Coronets<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

Emerald Fennell<\/a>\u2019s \u201cWuthering Heights<\/a>\u201d landed at No. 1 for the second Friday in a row with $4.6 million domestically.<\/p>\n
