As Hollywood continues to mourn the death of Eric Dane<\/a>, his Grey\u2019s Anatomy<\/a> onscreen love interest has shared a statement.<\/p>\n

Chyler Leigh<\/a>, who played Lexie Grey<\/a> on the ABC medical drama from 2007 to \u201912, said she will carry Dane \u201cwithin my heart forever\u201d after the Mark Sloan<\/a> actor died at age 53 on Thursday, following an Als diagnosis last year.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe last 48 hours have been devastating,\u201d she started in a statement shared with E! News<\/a>. \u201cI never thought I would be using the term \u2018had or was,\u2019 but here we are. And I hate it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Leigh said, \u201cEric had a heart of gold. His humor and, especially, his laugh was infectious. He was a deeply intelligent man who could carry a philosophical conversation for hours even while we were on set. He was an amazing father and loved his girls Fiercely.
