Prince William<\/a> has said he has not yet watched BAFTA Best Picture nominee Hamnet because he \u201cneeded to be in a calm mood\u201d.\u00a0 Speaking at the glitzy award ceremony shortly after arriving with his wife,<\/a> the Prince of Wales spoke about what films he and his wife have been tuning into.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n He said his wife Catherine watched the hugely emotional film on Saturday night and was left in \u201cfloods of tears\u201d. But when asked if he had seen it, he explained: \u201cI need to be in quite a calm state and I am not at the moment. I will save it.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Hamnet tells the story of the tragic death in childhood of Shakespeare\u2019s son Hamnet and the grief of his parents. \u201cI thought it was a bad idea, actually,\u201d Kate joked of watching the film before the ceremony. \u201cEnded up with very puffy eyes. It was so beautifully shot. The music as well. The score is fantastic.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Their attendance at the BAFTAs marks their first public appearance since Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s shock arrest on suspicion of misconduct in public office on Thursday morning.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Catherine oozed glamour in a soft blush Gucci gown with a maroon velvet belt and her hair in bouncy curls. She last wore the dusky pink dress for the 100 Women in Finance Gala in 2019.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n William matched his wife in a classic maroon velvet tuxedo, looking dapper in a black bow tie.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Having walked the red-carpet, the couple chatted to an all-female line up of BAFTA executives, CEO Jane Millichip and Chair Sara Putt, Chair of the Film Committee Emily Stillman and Emma Baehr, Executive Director Awards and Content.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n The Princess revealed how Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis are now taking a greater interest in films.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
