Users can also upload photos or videos and have Gemini compose an accompanying soundtrack.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal leading-[1.7]\">Google is positioning the tool for casual use cases such as custom birthday cards or \u201ca ballad from your pet\u2019s POV.\u201d Lyria 3 is available in English, German, Spanish, French, Hindi, Japanese, Korean and Portuguese.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal leading-[1.7]\">Google has not specified how Lyria 3 was trained, but said in a <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"link-external\" href=\"https:\/\/blog.google\/innovation-and-ai\/products\/gemini-app\/lyria-3\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">blog post on Wednesday<\/a> (February 18) it has sought to \u201cdevelop this technology responsibly in collaboration with the music community\u201d and has \u201cbeen very mindful of copyright and partner agreements\u201d in training the model.<\/p>\n<p>MBW understands that to mean the training for Lyria 3 uses music that <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"link-relationship\" title=\"Companies &gt; YouTube [2,200 articles]\" href=\"https:\/\/www.musicbusinessworldwide.com\/companies\/youtube\/\">YouTube<\/a> and its parent company, Google, \u201chave the right to use\u201d under their \u201cterms of service, partner agreements, and applicable law\u201d.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal leading-[1.7]\"><a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"underline underline underline-offset-2 decoration-1 decoration-current\/40 hover:decoration-current focus:decoration-current\" href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/pro\/google-youtube-trained-ai-copyrighted-music-before-deals\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Billboard reported in January 2024<\/a> that Google had previously trained its AI music models on copyrighted recordings before approaching rights holders for licensing deals.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal leading-[1.7]\">Google said Lyria 3 represents an improvement on its previous Lyria models, offering automatically generated lyrics, greater creative control over style and tempo, and \u201cmore realistic and musically complex tracks.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal leading-[1.7]\">The new model builds on <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"underline underline underline-offset-2 decoration-1 decoration-current\/40 hover:decoration-current focus:decoration-current\" href=\"https:\/\/www.musicbusinessworldwide.com\/youtube-rolls-out-ai-tool-that-can-turn-speech-into-songs-for-shorts-powered-by-google-deepminds-lyria-2-music-model\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Lyria 2, which MBW reported on in September<\/a>, and which powers YouTube\u2019s \u201cSpeech to Song\u201d tool for converting dialogue into musical soundtracks.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal leading-[1.7]\">The company framed the feature as a tool for personal creative expression rather than professional music production. \u201cThe goal of these tracks isn\u2019t to create a musical masterpiece, but rather to give you a fun, unique way to express yourself,\u201d wrote Jo\u00ebl Yawili, Senior Product Manager at Gemini App, and Myriam Hamed Torres, Senior Product Manager at Google DeepMind, <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"link-external\" href=\"https:\/\/laude.ai\/magic-link#8b5bd26e6e3b923b38c9b97e48d8a39d:bXVycmF5QG11c2ljYml6d29ybGR3aWRlLmNvbQ==\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">in a blog post<\/a> announcing the launch.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal leading-[1.7]\">Lyria 3 is also being <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"link-internal\" href=\"https:\/\/www.musicbusinessworldwide.com\/welcome-to-the-future-ai-generated-vocal-clones-of-superstars-now-available-on-youtube-shorts-thanks-to-googles-most-advanced-music-generation-model-to-date\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">integrated into YouTube\u2019s Dream Track<\/a> \u2014 the platform\u2019s AI soundtrack generator for Shorts creators, first launched in 2023 \u2014 which is expanding beyond its initial US availability to creators in other countries.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal leading-[1.7]\">Dream Track originally launched with AI voice clones of participating artists including Charlie Puth, T-Pain, and Alec Benjamin. Lyria 3 focuses on original vocal and instrumental generation rather than artist likeness.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal leading-[1.7]\">The launch follows YouTube\u2019s rollout of a separate AI music tool, \u201cMusic Assistant,\u201d within its Creator Music marketplace earlier this year.
