Bringing Up Bates<\/em><\/a> star Katie Bates<\/strong> is seeking professional help navigating husband Travis Clark<\/strong>\u2018s cheating scandal.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve wanted to come on here and say something for a while but I honestly haven\u2019t really known how to put words to any of this,\u201d Bates, 25, wrote via her Instagram Story on Sunday, February 22. \u201cThis year didn\u2019t start how I thought it would. It\u2019s been really heavy and emotional in ways I wasn\u2019t prepared for. Some days I feel okay and steady. and other days it\u2019s hard to even leave the house.\u201d<\/p>\n

Bates noted she has been \u201ctrying to take it one day at a time,\u201d adding, \u201cI do want to say thank you though. The love, prayers, and messages I\u2019ve received have meant more than I can explain. I don\u2019t always know how to respond, but please know I see it and I\u2019m grateful.\u201d<\/p>\n

The reality star acknowledged finding it difficult<\/a> to move past Clark\u2019s infidelity.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m getting ready to attend my first four day therapy intensive. I don\u2019t really feel equipped to handle something like this on my own, so getting help feels important. I know I can\u2019t pour into anything else well if I\u2019m not actually working through this in a healthy way,\u201d Bates continued. \u201cBeing mom to Hailey and Harvey and finding little pieces of normal life again has been so grounding for me. I\u2019m not very good at expressing my emotions, so this probably feels scattered, but I\u2019m trying to lean on God and He has brought me so much comfort.\u201d<\/p>\n

She concluded: \u201cI don\u2019t know how much I\u2019ll share as I walk through all of this or what that will look like, but I did want to say thank you for the kindness and grace you\u2019ve shown me. It truly means a lot.\u201d<\/p>\n

Clark, 24, previously came clean about being unfaithful.<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cThis is hard to write, but I owe the truth and I owe an apology. I was unfaithful to my wife. I had an affair and repeatedly broke her trust. There is no excuse for what I did,\u201d he wrote via Instagram in January. \u201cThis was my failure and my responsibility alone. I know that words don\u2019t begin to express the damage I caused or the depth of the hurt I\u2019ve brought into her life, but I am truly sorry.\u201d<\/p>\n

Clark noted that he was \u201ctaking responsibility\u201d for his actions. \u201cI\u2019m sorry for the pain, humiliation and betrayal I caused my wife through my choices,\u201d he added. \u201cI understand that an apology doesn\u2019t repair what I broke and forgiveness is not something I deserve or can ask for.\u201d<\/p>\n

In the statement, Clark requested privacy<\/a>, writing, \u201cI am taking responsibility by getting help and doing the work to change and become a more honest and accountable man, regardless of [the] outcome. I ask for privacy and grace for Katie as she processes this in her own time.\u201d<\/p>\n
