For the third time in five years comedy icons Steve Martin and Martin Short<\/a> will perform in Columbia.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Martin and Short are scheduled to return this year for a Dec. 5 show at the Township Auditorium<\/a>. The comedians previously performed in South Carolina\u2019s<\/a> capital city in 2023 and 2021<\/a>.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n They\u2019ll come back on \u201cThe Best of Steve Martin and Martin Short\u201d tour, promoters said Monday in a news release.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Tickets for the show<\/a> headlined by the comedians often associated with \u201cSaturday Night Live\u201d will go on sale Friday at 10 a.m., according to the release.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Ticket prices range from $89.50 to $279.50<\/a>, according to the Township Auditorium\u2019s website.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Jeff Babko<\/a> and the Grammy Award-winning Steep Canyon Rangers<\/a> \u2014 from Asheville, North Carolina \u2014 will also appear at the performance, promoters said.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The duo will have another show in South Carolina on the tour. The night prior to their show in Columbia, Martin and Short are scheduled to perform at the North Charleston Performing Arts Center<\/a> on Dec. 4.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u201cThe show redefines the form of a comedy in unexpected and profound ways, from two of the funniest, most influential and acclaimed talents of the past century,\u201d promoters wrote in the release. \u201cTheir humor is often subversive, but it is always a joyous self-deprecating romp from two comedy masters driven to make each other laugh as much as the audience. Their sold-out tour \u201cAn Evening You Will Forget for the Rest of Your Life\u201d inspired a 2018 Netflix special that earned four Emmy Award nominations.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Martin began his career as a television writer and stand-up comedian before finding cinematic fame as the star of movies \u201cThe Jerk,\u201d \u201cDirty Rotten Scoundrels,\u201d \u201cParenthood\u201d and \u201cPlanes, Trains and Automobiles\u201d and \u201cBowfinger,\u201d The Tribune reported. He\u2019s been a host on \u201cSaturday Night Live\u201d 16 times<\/a> and appeared as a special guest 19 others.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Short rose to fame as a regular cast member on sketch comedy shows \u201cSCTV\u201d and \u201cSaturday Night Live,\u201d<\/a> before starring in movies including \u201cCaptain Ron,\u201d \u201cClifford\u201d and \u201cInnerspace.\u201d<\/p>\n <\/p>\n In addition to \u201cThe Three Amigos,\u201d he also appeared with Martin in the \u201cFather of the Bride\u201d films.
