Tim Gunn<\/strong><\/a> is making it work after he was allegedly not invited back to Project Runway<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Gunn was a staple on the fashion design competition series for more than a decade, serving as a mentor to the designers from the show\u2019s 2004 debut through season 16 in 2017. In 2018, he and host Heidi Klum<\/strong> left Project Runway<\/em> to launch their reality series Making the Cut <\/em>on Prime Video.<\/p>\n

In 2025, Klum returned for Project Runway<\/em> season 21 \u2014 but Gunn did not.<\/p>\n

\u201cI wasn\u2019t invited to return to the party,\u201d The Fashion Bible author said on Chelsea Handler<\/strong>\u2019s \u201cDear Chelsea\u201d podcast in February 2026. \u201cMy agent called the producers to say, \u2018We understand Heidi [Klum] signed up. We haven\u2019t heard a thing about Tim,\u2019 and they said, \u2018We don\u2019t want him.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tProject Runway is back \u2014 and so is Heidi Klum. Us Weekly can confirm that the 51-year-old model will be returning to her roots as the show\u2019s host for the first time in eight years. (People was first to report the news on Friday, January 3.) Klum previously hosted the reality competition show alongside Tim [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Gunn added, \u201cI feel extremely lucky to have had 19 seasons of the show, 16 with Heidi, and I have a beautiful Emmy sitting on my kitchen counter. Yeah, so no complaints. I feel very, very, very lucky.\u201d<\/p>\n

Tim Gunn Shares His Initial Reaction to \u2018Project Runway\u2019 Snub<\/h2>\n

Tim Gunn first claimed that he wasn\u2019t invited back to Project Runway<\/em><\/a> in an interview with People<\/em><\/a> in February 2025.<\/p>\n

\u201cHeidi sent me a text saying, \u2018There\u2019s talk about bringing Project Runway<\/em> back with us, with you and me, and would you do it?\u2019 And I said, \u2018Would I do it? Of course, there\u2019s not a moment of hesitation in me,’\u201d he said at the time. \u201cSo Heidi and I were texting and texting, and several months later, she sent me a text asking, \u2018Are you happy with your contract?\u2019 I\u2019m a truth-teller. I don\u2019t even mince words. I said, \u2018Well, I haven\u2019t seen a contract.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Gunn said that he was \u201cinitially devastated, then kind of humiliated\u201d after he learned that the producers allegedly didn\u2019t want him back on the show.<\/p>\n

Gunn added that he planned to tune into the show anyway to support Klum, whom he said was \u201creally upset\u201d that he wasn\u2019t returning.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have her back and I\u2019m with her in spirit always,\u201d he told the outlet.<\/p>\n
