Rose Byrne<\/strong><\/a> is clarifying why longtime partner Bobby Cannavale<\/strong> <\/a>was at a reptile expo instead of the 2026 Golden Globes.<\/p>\n \u201cNever in my life will I announce something like that on a major awards show again,\u201d Byrne, 46, told The New York Times<\/em> <\/a>in an interview published on Sunday, February 22. \u201cEveryone was thinking it\u2019s for Bobby. It\u2019s not! It\u2019s for our children. The children.\u201d<\/p>\n Byrne made headlines at the awards show last month when she won Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Motion Picture \u2014 Musical or Comedy for If I Had Legs I\u2019d Kick You<\/em> and shared in her acceptance speech that Cannavale was absent.<\/a><\/p>\n \u201cI want to thank my husband, Bobby Cannavale, he couldn\u2019t be here because we\u2019re getting a bearded dragon and he went to a reptile expo in New Jersey,\u201d she said at the time. \u201cThank you baby!\u201d<\/p>\n Byrne and Cannavale began dating in 2012 and welcomed their first child, son Rocco, four years later. The pair welcomed their second child, son Rafael, in November 2017 \u2014 which Rocco wasn\u2019t onboard with at first.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s pretty hectic. It\u2019s funny that the little guy is a lot more aggressive than the big guy,\u201d Byrne teased on Live With Kelly and Ryan<\/em> in 2018. \u201c[Rafael] just goes in for the tackle and loves to pin [Rocco] down. \u2026 There was a bit of an adjustment at first.\u201d<\/p>\n Byrne continued, \u201cRocco, he didn\u2019t quite get having the brother and he would wake up in the morning and go, \u2018No Rafa, no Rafa.\u2019 It\u2019s quite a trauma on them, I think, the first few months. It toughens them up, right?\u201d<\/p>\n As Byrne and Cannavale\u2019s family expands, the pair have been open about how they\u2019re not in a rush to tie the knot.<\/p>\n \u201cI keep going, \u2018Let\u2019s get around to it, let\u2019s do it.\u2019 And then, you know, you have a baby, and then, oh, there\u2019s another baby,\u201d she told the Sydney Morning Herald<\/em> in July 2021. \u201cIt was kind of like that for us.\u201d<\/p>\n
