A member of one of the British Academy\u2019s juries has stepped down from his position following Sunday night\u2019s N-word controversy at the Film Awards.<\/p>\n

Jonte Richardson<\/a>, a Black writer and producer, has resigned from BAFTA\u2019s emerging talent judging panel, citing the organisation\u2019s \u201cutterly unforgivable\u201d handling of the incident in which Tourette\u2019s syndrome activist John Davidson<\/a> involuntarily shouted the N-word while Michael B. Jordan<\/a> and Delroy Lindo<\/a> were presenting on stage.<\/p>\n

\u201cI cannot and will not contribute my time energy and expertise to an organisation that has repeatedly failed to safeguard the dignity of its Black guests, members and the Black creative community,\u201d Richardson<\/a> wrote on social media.<\/p>\n
