France\u2019s Canal+ Group, has acquired a 51% majority stake in prominent Italian distribution and production company Lucky Red<\/a>, marking the latest consolidation move in Europe.<\/p>\n

Lucky Red, which is a leading Italian indie film distributor, and is also active in film and TV production, as well as sales, was among the few remaining Italian outfits that had not yet been snapped up by a bigger international group.<\/p>\n

The Rome-based company\u2019s recent releases include \u201cSentimental Value<\/a>,\u201d \u201cNouvelle Vague<\/a>,\u201d \u201cGreenland 2: Migration<\/a>\u201d and Robbie Williams<\/a> biopic \u201cBetter Man<\/a>.\u201d Their standout productions comprise Gabriele Mainetti<\/a>\u2019s \u201cFreaks Out<\/a>\u201d and Netflix<\/a>\u2019s first Italian film \u201cOn My Skin<\/a>.\u201d More recent productions Lucky Red have been involved in comprise two works by French directors: Robin Campillo<\/a>\u2019s \u201cEnzo<\/a>\u201d and Christophe Honor\u00e9<\/a>\u2019s \u201cMarcello Mio.<\/a>\u201d<\/p>\n

Lucky Red is also partners with Italy\u2019s Indigo Film<\/a> in sales company True Colours<\/a>.<\/p>\n
