PUDDLE OF MUDD<\/b> has released the official music video for the band’s latest single, “Rain”<\/b>, available now through LoudHit Records<\/b> in partnership with Virgin Music Group<\/b>.<\/p>\n
Having sold more than seven million albums worldwide \u2014 including four million in the United States \u2014 PUDDLE OF MUDD<\/b> became one of the most successful rock acts of the early 2000s. Their breakout album “Come Clean”<\/b> (2001) produced the Billboard Hot 100 Top 5 smash “Blurry”<\/b>, along with enduring radio staples like “She Hates Me”<\/b>, “Control”<\/b> and “Drift & Die”<\/b>, helping shape a generation of post-grunge rock.<\/p>\n
Produced by Eric T. Johnson<\/b> (founder of NI Music Group<\/b> \/ LoudHit Records<\/b>) and Aben Eubanks<\/b> (Grammy<\/b>-winning guitarist and songwriter for Kelly Clarkson<\/b>),”Rain” signals a creative rebirth for the multi-platinum band. The track leans into vulnerability and restraint, channeling the emotional authenticity that made “Blurry”<\/b> resonate \u2014 while delivering a contemporary sonic edge for today’s rock audience.<\/p>\n
“This song is about standing in the storm instead of running from it,” says PUDDLE OF MUDD<\/b> frontman Wes Scantlin<\/b>. “It’s honest, it’s exposed and it’s real. ‘Rain’<\/b> feels like where I’m at now.”<\/p>\n
Rather than revisiting past formulas, PUDDLE OF MUDD<\/b> focuses on reconnecting with the emotional core that first defined their sound.<\/p>\n
“This isn’t a comeback built on nostalgia,” says Johnson<\/b>. “It’s about letting Wes<\/b> be emotionally present again. ‘Rain’<\/b> carries the same soul and emotional weight that made ‘Blurry’<\/b> timeless \u2014 without trying to recreate it.”<\/p>\n
Last November, PUDDLE OF MUDD<\/b> released the official music video for its previous single, “Monsters”<\/b>.<\/p>\n
“Monsters”<\/b> was originally made available in October without prior announcement through Virgin Records<\/b>.<\/p>\n
In August 2025, PUDDLE OF MUDD<\/b> signed a new management contract with NI Music Group<\/b>. Shortly afterward, PUDDLE OF MUDD<\/b> frontman Wes Scantlin<\/b> entered Warner Chappell Studios<\/b> in Los Angeles with NI Music Group<\/b> CEO Eric T. Johnson<\/b>, who co-wrote and produced the track alongside audio engineer Ethan Ray Shevin<\/b>. Scantlin<\/b> later confirmed that “Monsters”<\/b> was written, recorded, and produced entirely during those sessions.<\/p>\n
PUDDLE OF MUDD<\/b>‘s latest album, “Kiss The Machine”<\/b>, was released in May 2025 via Pavement Entertainment<\/b>.<\/p>\n
PUDDLE OF MUDD<\/b> was formed in 1991 in Kansas City by Scantlin<\/b>, the only original member still with the band.<\/p>\n
PUDDLE OF MUDD<\/b>‘s most recent touring lineup saw Scantlin<\/b> joined by returning bassist Michael Anthony Grajewski<\/b> and new members Miles Schon<\/b> \u2014 son of legendary JOURNEY<\/b> guitarist Neal Schon<\/b> \u2014 on lead guitar and Jon Smith<\/b> on drums.<\/p>\n
