Tickets: https:\/\/bit.ly\/4pTTNpa<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><\/media-video><\/div>\n<p>I am not a fan of <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/tiffany.house.gov\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/tiffany.house.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Tom Tiffany.<\/a> I will not be endorsing him for governor. But as far as his response to a question about guns and protests, I gotta give him his props.<\/p>\n<partner-banner util-module-path=\"elements\/partner\" class=\"spacer-large\" min-height=\"600\" fluid=\"\" outstream=\"\" momentum=\"\"\/>\n<p>What he said was (paraphrasing): If the law allows you to carry and you have a permit, then you do have the right to bring a gun to a protest. But maybe you better not (<a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.jsonline.com\/story\/news\/politics\/2026\/02\/06\/wisconsin-democrats-use-gun-rights-to-target-gop-candidate-tom-tiffany\/88528189007\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.jsonline.com\/story\/news\/politics\/2026\/02\/06\/wisconsin-democrats-use-gun-rights-to-target-gop-candidate-tom-tiffany\/88528189007\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">\u201cDems hit Tiffany on gun rights, protests,\u201d Feb. 7).<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Some Democrats thought that was an opportunity to attack him, to maybe pry some gun enthusiasts away from his base of support. But that wasn&#8217;t my reaction at all. My reaction was more like, &#8220;Well said. I&#8217;m glad you agree with us.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"related-link\"><span class=\"exclude-from-newsgate\"><strong style=\"margin-right:3px\">Opinion: <\/strong><a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.jsonline.com\/story\/opinion\/2026\/02\/13\/wisconsin-food-access-foodshare-milwaukee-grocery-store\/88595264007\/\" rel=\"noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">FoodShare feeds Milwaukee. New bill could make that harder.<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Having a gun doesn&#8217;t necessarily make you safer; it might, in fact, make you less safe. Just because you have a right to carry doesn&#8217;t mean it&#8217;s a smart thing to do. That&#8217;s what Tiffany is saying, and I don&#8217;t think that&#8217;s a reason to attack. So if someone feels that they really need a gun to protect themselves, I&#8217;m not about to tell them they&#8217;re wrong.
