Former child star Zachery Ty Bryan has been ordered to spend more than a year behind bars following his 2024 arrest on DUI charges.<\/p>\n
The \u201cHome Improvement\u201d alum was sentenced Monday to 16 months in jail, with credit for 57 days already served, as part of a plea deal with prosecutors, according to TMZ.<\/p>\n
Bryan, 44, agreed to plead guilty to DUI and admitted to an enhancement for driving with a BAC of 0.15% or higher. Probation was also denied, with Bryan admitting to two prior DUI convictions.<\/p>\n
Bryan \u2014 who played Brad Taylor on the ABC sitcom<\/a> from 1991 to 1999 \u2014 was taken into custody by police in Riverside County, California, in the early morning hours of Feb. 17, 2024. He was charged at the time with driving under the influence with three or more priors<\/a>, in addition to a misdemeanor charge of contempt of court.<\/p>\n \u201cDeputies assigned to the La Quinta Sheriff\u2019s Station conducted a traffic stop in the area of Washington Street and Calle Tampico in La Quinta on a vehicle suspected of being involved in a recent traffic collision<\/a>,\u201d Riverside County Sheriff\u2019s Office Sgt. Wenndy Brito-Gonzalez said in a statement at the time.<\/p>\n She added that \u201cwhen deputies contacted the driver, they observed indications of impairment, leading to the driver\u2019s arrest for driving under the influence with priors.\u201d<\/p>\n According to court documents, Bryan\u2019s blood alcohol level at the time was around double the legal limit of .08<\/a>.<\/p>\n Bryan has a long history of run-ins with the law. He was previously arrested for domestic violence in 2020<\/a> and pleaded guilty to two counts<\/a> before he was again arrested for another domestic violence incident<\/a> in 2023.<\/p>\n In January of last year, he taken into custody again, marking his third domestic violence arrest<\/a> since 2020. In December, he was taken into custody in Oregon for allegedly violating the terms of his probation<\/a>.
