Philly-based punk veterans the Menzingers are in between albums right now. Some Of It Was True<\/a><\/em>, their last one, came out in 2023. Since then, there’s been a deluxe edition<\/a> and a compilation track<\/a>, and now the Menzingers have a new standalone single. Today, they’ve got a new standalone single that pushes them in the direction of heart-on-sleeve classic rock.<\/p>\n The Menzingers’ new song “Nobody’s Heroes” has a drum-machine beat under the actual drums here. There’s triumphant saxophone. There’s organ. There’s a huge, brawny singalong chorus. It’s like the Gaslight Anthem, if they were trying to be John Mellencamp instead of Bruce Springsteen. Frontman Greg Barnett says, “We started writing ‘Nobody\u2019s Heroes’ for Tom [May, guitarist], who was going through a divorce at the time. As the song developed, it became\u00a0something even bigger.\u00a0\u2018Nobody\u2019s Heroes\u2019\u00a0is the story of The Menzingers \u2014 how\u00a0we\u2019re\u00a0at our best when\u00a0we\u2019re\u00a0ourselves.” Below, check out the song and the Menzingers’ tour dates.<\/p>\n
