It\u2019s a good week to be Billy Idol<\/a><\/strong>. Not only is his acclaimed documentary, Billy Idol Should Be Dead<\/a><\/em>, finally getting a theatrical release, but he was also just nominated for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame\u2019s Class of 2026<\/a>. And unlike like his grumpy punk peers the Sex Pistols<\/strong>, who boycotted their 2006 Hall ceremony, Idol is genuinely excited about the honor.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was part of Ozzy Osbourne<\/strong>‘s induction [in 2024], and I really enjoyed it. It was a great night,\u201d the punk icon tells Gold Derby, flashing his famous lip-curled smile. \u201cThere was like, Dionne Warwick<\/strong> sitting over there, and then Dua Lipa<\/strong> over there. You\u2019ve got this vast expanse of people who’ve been in music for a very long time or are just starting out, and I’m somewhere in the middle So, it’d be fantastic [to be inducted].\u201d<\/p>\n
