Princess Kate Middleton<\/strong><\/a> is a woman with a plan \u2014 at least according to royal author Russell Myers<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe\u2019s often been criticized about how she\u2019s taken a long time to get used to public speaking or a long time to formulate the real ideas that she wants to take forward in her royal role, but I think she\u2019s the real strategist,\u201d Myers told Us Weekly<\/em> exclusively while promoting his upcoming book, William and Catherine<\/a>: The Monarchy\u2019s New Era: The Inside Story.<\/em><\/p>\n

Myers claimed that Kate, 44, is \u201cthe one who\u2019s thinking of the future,\u201d and Prince William<\/strong> \u201crelies on her an awful lot.\u201d<\/p>\n

The author said there is a \u201creally interesting dynamic\u201d between William, 43, and Kate as they constantly meld their personal and professional lives.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe relies on her personally, professionally and emotionally as well,\u201d Myers explained.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tOn March 30, Princess Kate shared a touching video on Instagram celebrating the U.K.\u2019s Mothering Sunday. \u201cOver the past year, nature has been our sanctuary,\u201d the mom of three wrote alongside a dreamy montage of flowers blooming, waves crashing and gently placing her hands on a tree. \u201cThis Mother\u2019s Day,\u201d she added, \u201clet us celebrate [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

While writing this book, Myers told Us<\/em> that his \u201cbiggest surprises\u201d came from how involved Kate actually is in the day-to-day duties of the royal family.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen you think about Catherine, you think of this glamorous woman who represents the monarchy so fantastically well,\u201d he said. Myers explained that \u201cwhen you speak to people who have known her for years,\u201d there is a sense that Kate is \u201cworking on a greater scale.\u201d<\/p>\n

Details about how William and Kate are preparing to take over the monarchy have been reported for years. Myers told Us<\/em> that after \u201cspeaking to people very, very close\u201d to William and Kate, it\u2019s evident that they have \u201ca totally different vision for the monarchy\u201d going forward.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt needs to be accountable. It needs to speak to the younger generation, not only at home but abroad,\u201d he said. \u201cIt needs to be tapped into the issues that are important to young people \u2014 whether that\u2019s climate change or homelessness or trying to affect generational change for young kids \u2014 which is really, really important to what Catherine is trying to do.\u201d<\/p>\n

They also need to \u201ccreate a system that works for the people,\u201d Myers added.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat they have tried to do is tried to get their family home life right and then work on the public profile,\u201d the author shared. \u201cThat\u2019s very, very different to how the monarchy has been structured in generations beforehand.\u201d<\/p>\n

William and Kate are using this apparent change as an example for their three kids \u2014 Prince George<\/strong>, 12, Princess Charlotte<\/strong>, 10, and Prince Louis<\/strong>, 7 \u2014 as well.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey\u2019ve definitely wanted to create a different model for the future,\u201d Myers said, acknowledging how the couple got through a \u201cvery, very emotional period\u201d following both King Charles III<\/strong> and Kate\u2019s respective cancer diagnoses.<\/p>\n
