Though our hearts ache, we take comfort in God\u2019s promise and in knowing he is finally at peace. We are grateful for your prayers and trust in the Lord to carry us through this time of sorrow,\u201d the reality star <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tmz.com\/2026\/02\/25\/robert-cosby-jr-dead\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">told TMZ<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>A Salt Lake City Police Department spokesperson confirmed to Page Six that Robert was found dead on the evening of Feb. 23 after officers \u201cresponded to an overdose call that turned into a death investigation.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>\u201cRHOSLC\u201d star Mary Cosby, pictured here in a social media snap, has reacted to the sudden death of her son, Robert Jr. <span class=\"credit\">Instagram\/mary_m_cosby<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Robert Jr., pictured here on an episode of \u201cRHOSLC,\u201d died on Monday.  <span class=\"credit\">Bravo<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>He was 23 years old.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module aligncenter wp-block-nypost-editor-primary-tag\">\n<\/aside>\n<p>The \u201cRHOSLC\u201d star didn\u2019t shy away from shedding light on Robert and his estranged wife Alexiana Smokoff\u2019s alleged drug use, including during Season 6, which was filmed in early 2025.<\/p>\n<p>Smokoff filed for divorce from Robert in November, after three years of marriage.<\/p>\n<p>Robert also<a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2025\/12\/03\/celebrity-news\/rhoslc-star-mary-cosbys-son-robert-jr-pleads-guilty-to-trespassing-and-assault-remains-in-jail-until-next-year\/\"> had a history of run-ins with the law<\/a>, which Mary discussed during the Season 6 \u201cRHOSLC\u201d reunion in January.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>A Salt Lake City Police Department spokesperson confirmed to Page Six that Robert, pictured here with his mom, suffered an overdose.  <span class=\"credit\">Bravo<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Robert Jr., pictured here in an Instagram image, was arrested in November and served time in jail until earlier this month.  <span class=\"credit\">Instagram\/illboybubs<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>During the episode, Mary, 53, shared that her son was arrested in November and was serving time in jail after violating a restraining order put in place by Smokoff\u2019s family.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m not worried about him,\u201d Mary <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2026\/02\/25\/celebrity-news\/rhoslc-star-mary-cosby-feared-son-robert-jr-would-die-just-months-before-his-death\/\">said, though she was visibly upset<\/a>. \u201cI know he\u2019s somewhere where he\u2019s not using.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt some point, I have to step back so that he can learn and he can make his own decisions, and unfortunately, he\u2019s learning the hard way.
