South Korean director Park Chan-wook<\/a> will be the jury president for the 79th Cannes International Film Festival, Cannes unveiled on Thursday.<\/p>\n

The acclaimed filmmaker behind Oldboy<\/a>, The Handmaiden<\/a> and No Other Choice<\/a> will head up the international jury that will select the winner of this year\u2019s Palme d\u2019Or. The 2026 Cannes Film Festival runs May 12 \u2013 23. He will be the first Korean head of the Cannes jury.<\/p>\n
