Scarlett Thomas got to work on her new music in Nashville on Wednesday after she signed a record deal with\u00a0Big Family Music last month.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The nepo baby<\/a>, 17, who is the daughter of Corrie exes Tina O’Brien<\/a> and Ryan Thomas<\/a>, teased her new music as she hit the recording studio with\u00a0songwriter-to-the-stars Julien Bunetta.<\/p>\n

Julian broke through as a songwriter in 2012 with One Direction<\/a>‘s Take Me Home album and has since collaborated with the likes of Sabrina Carpenter and Teddy Swims.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Now, teenager Scarlett has jetted to the city to produce her debut album as she shared a glimpse on TikTok<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Sitting in an arm chair in the studio, the Waterloo Road actress sang her upbeat new track while also working on a ‘sad break up’ single.<\/p>\n

In the video, Scarlett, who rocked jeans<\/a> and a brown printed shirt, gushed, ‘I love it!’<\/p>\n

She captioned the post, ‘Come with me to make my song’, as she danced around the studio sharing the behind the scenes.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Earlier this month, dad Ryan revealed Scarlett was flying to Nashville to record music<\/a> with One Direction’s songwriter Julian.<\/p>\n

Speaking on his podcast, he said: ‘What’s unbelievable about all this is the guy that she signed to, the boys that she signed to, have two other brothers who own the record label in the States – and this guy is called Julian Bunetta.’<\/p>\n

Ryan added: ‘In the music industry, he’s probably the biggest thing right now.<\/p>\n

‘And Scarlett is now next month flying out to his house to record in show. And this is in Nashville. In Nashville, she’s staying there for a week.’<\/p>\n

He continued: ‘How crazy is that? And she said, “Dad I like about pinch myself, like, what is going on.”<\/p>\n

‘And it’s just crazy to think that she’s going to be in that studio in Nashville, where music is basically originating from, where all the creative music people live, and she’s going to be in and around it, just living and breathing and potentially like a song that we’re all going to hear on the radio one day.<\/p>\n

‘Like, how proud are we as a family?’<\/p>\n

Ryan previously shared a photo of himself and his daughter after she had signed the deal with Big Family Music at a restaurant.<\/p>\n

He also posted a video of her singing at that same restaurant five years ago when she was 12.<\/p>\n

Alongside the clip, he wrote: ‘Today is one of the best days of my life. Watching my little girl sign a record deal is a moment I will cherish forever.<\/p>\n

‘The stars were all aligned today. As we turned up at the restaurant to sign the deal Scarlett said ‘I’ve been here before dad!!’ & then we found this video.<\/p>\n

‘Stood on the chair in front of all her family singing A Million Dreams & here we are 5 years later making her dream come true.’<\/p>\n

She shared a photo of herself signing the contract and wrote: ‘Wow, what an experience I have had so far and what an experience I’m about to have, I am beyond grateful for this amazing opportunity.<\/p>\n

‘Today was a life-changing moment for me, I’ve been working hard behind the scenes but I can now finally share it with you all. I can’t wait for what this year brings, hopefully some amazing music.’<\/p>\n

He also defended his controversial decision to allow Scarlett to skip sitting her GCSEs.<\/p>\n

Scarlett, who appeared in BBC’s Waterloo Road in 2023, recently shared that she did not sit the nationwide exams in a video posted to her TikTok page.<\/p>\n

The caption read: ‘I’m watching everyone get there [sic] GCSE results today, wondering if I could’ve had good results but I will forever wonder.’<\/p>\n

The clip caused much controversy online, with many complaining that it was ‘unacceptable’ for the teenager to forgo sitting the exams and attending school to focus on her budding acting career.<\/p>\n

Under one post which criticised the decision from her parents, her father weighed in in the comment section and hit back.<\/p>\n

He defiantly said: ‘Is it even anyone’s business or concern though?’<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
