Fans on TikTok have openly celebrated the song\u2019s queer love themes. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tIn Eilish\u2019s hit, she sings about comforting a girl through a breakup, only to go on to date the girl\u2019s ex, a theme not necessarily exclusively relatable to teens, but let\u2019s be honest, how many of us went through similar situations in high school?<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tAfter a breakout year and a Grammy nomination for best new artist, it\u2019s not surprising to see The Mar\u00edas earn a spot on Gen Z playlists with \u201cNo One Noticed.\u201d With bilingual Spanish and English lyrics, The Mar\u00edas are known for dreamy, psychedelic sounds that will no doubt soundtrack Gen Z teens\u2019 main character moments. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tIf you didn\u2019t already know who Sombr was, you might have been introduced to him through his October TikTok scandal when he hit back at a fan who called his performance style \u201ccringe.\u201d The artist responded, telling her, \u201cIf you\u2019re 25 years old, and you\u2019re gonna come to my concert and not expect people younger than you to be there when I, the artist, am five years younger than you, it\u2019s just a skill issue.\u201d <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThus, debates ensued about Sombr\u2019s vulgar performance style, which included references to oral sex and requests for fans to \u201cbark\u201d for him, and about music critique in general. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tIf there\u2019s anything to take from teens\u2019 top songs, it\u2019s that yearning is alive and well for the younger generation. Sombr\u2019s \u201cback to friends\u201d and Perez\u2019s \u201cSailor Song\u201d nail the feeling, but teens were yearning so badly that they had to throw it back to 2013 with Arctic Monkeys\u2019 \u201cI Wanna Be Yours\u201d to really capture the emotion.
