To celebrate the 250th birthday of author Jane Austen, it transports listeners back to her world, presenting music that she would have known and possibly even played. <\/p>\n<p>\u201c<a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.kannehmasons.com\/2025\/10\/03\/jeneba-kanneh-masons-new-ep-jane-austen-piano-coming-december-2025-on-sony-classical\/\">Jane Austen\u2019s Piano<\/a>\u201d is the newest release from British pianist <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.kannehmasons.com\/project\/jeneba-kanneh-mason\/\">Jeneba Kanneh-Mason<\/a>, one of the seven talented <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.kannehmasons.com\/\">Kanneh-Mason siblings<\/a>, as a follow up to <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sonyclassical.com\/releases\/releases-details\/fantasie\">her debut solo album<\/a> released earlier last year.<\/p>\n<p>Like many women of her social class in late eighteenth-century England, Austen learned the piano from an early age. No corporate filter.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>This new EP from Jeneba Kanneh-Mason includes a few of those works, plus music mentioned in or inspired by Jane Austen\u2019s six novels.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>One of the pieces on this EP that Austen transcribed herself is the \u201cPiano Sonata in C major\u201d by Joseph Haydn. Haydn wrote this sonata in the early 1780s, while he was still serving as the <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.classiccat.net\/dictionary\/kapellmeister.php\">Kappellmeister<\/a> to the Esterhazy family in Austria, but it became hugely popular in England after Haydn\u2019s first trip to London in 1792, when Austen was just 16 years old.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-4-3 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">\n<div class=\"jeg_video_container jeg_video_content\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Piano Sonata in C Major, Hob XVI:35: II.
