Francine Beppu, a reality TV star who once appeared on The Real L Word, has passed away at the age of 43. <\/p>\n

In a statement to PEOPLE<\/a>, a spokesperson for Beppu\u2019s family confirmed the news, stating Francine had died on Feb. 17 at her home in Honolulu. The cause of death was not revealed. <\/p>\n

\u201cIt is with a heavy heart that we share the passing of our beloved Francine \u2018Naoko\u2019 Beppu,\u201d the statement reads. \u201cThe outpouring of care and concern from her friends and colleagues is a testament to the tremendous impact she had on everyone around her.\u201d<\/p>\n

The spokesperson then noted, \u201cWe are deeply grateful to know how cherished she was and how brightly she will continue to shine through all who knew her.\u201d <\/p>\n

It was further shared that Beppu\u2019s family appreciated the \u201cmany guests of love\u201d for the late reality TV star and \u201ckindly asks for privacy and time\u201d while they \u201cnavigate this unimaginable loss and honor her memory.\u201d <\/p>\n

Beppu rose to fame following her appearance on the second season of The Real L Word. The reality TV show follows lesbians as they navigate their lives in both Los Angeles and New York City.<\/p>\n

During a 2023 interview with\u00a0Hawaii Business<\/a>,\u00a0Beppu reflected on her life post-reality TV fame.<\/span> She was working as the Vice President of Integrated Marketing at NMG Network. <\/p>\n

\u201cMy mom was an actor and a singer in Japan in the 1960s, and I\u2019m a big TV and movie buff,\u201d she explained. \u201cI loved that energy and the lights, the musicals, the shows. Hawai\u2018i is such a beautiful place, and we are so blessed to live here, but I really wanted to live in a big city.\u201d<\/p>\n

Beppu further explained that she wasn\u2019t always so open about her sexuality. \u201cFor a few years into my career, I wasn\u2019t out. It affects you. It\u2019s stressful to not share who you are when you\u2019re at work. I see a trend in larger companies having a DI [diversity and inclusion] program.\u201d <\/p>\n

She then added, \u201cI think there\u2019s been progress in understanding the complexities, and happy employees make better workers.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
