Nashville-based indie-folk band The Lone Bellow<\/a> have always treated their live shows as an extension of their story. Some venues lend themselves to quiet moments and connection, while others are made for more rocking energies.<\/p>\n And while there are few hard-rock influences in the songs that make up The Lone Bellow\u2019s sixth studio album, What A Time To Be Alive<\/em>, there are hints of pop spun through a touch of yacht rock\u2013enough stylistic curveballs to surprise even the band\u2019s most loyal followers.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cWe had some melodies that Michael Bolton could have slayed,\u201d laughs Williams, who for the first time wrote collaboratively with the full touring band, including founding members Brian Elmquist and Kanene Pipkin alongside drummer Julian Dorio and multi-instrumentalist Tyler Geertsma. \u201cThere were a couple What would Bolton do?<\/em> conversations around songs like \u2018I Did It For Love\u2019 and \u2018Staring Into the Sun.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n In fact, the bright and springy feel of the band\u2019s music video for \u201cI Did It For Love\u201d certainly breaks ground for The Lone Bellow. \u201cI think we\u2019re entering this new era as a band, where we\u2019re intentionally leaning into joy,\u201d Williams says.\u00a0<\/p>\nGet a guide to the region\u2019s booming music scene<\/h4>\n
