Brian Dowling admits he has one more reality TV show left in him \u2013 but is ruling out a major one.<\/p>\n
The TV personality and presenter<\/a> has been a mainstay on our screens since winning Big Brother in 2001.<\/p>\nAnd while these days he is better known for hosting shows rather than taking part in them, the dad of two doesn\u2019t feel his reality TV journey is over just yet.<\/p>\n
Brian<\/a> told RSVP Magazine: \u201cI think I\u2019ve done everything I\u2019ve wanted in my career, but I do believe there is one reality TV show left in me.<\/p>\n\u201cI won Big Brother in 2001, Ultimate Big Brother in 2010, I did Dancing With The Stars<\/a> in 2020\u2026 but I do think there is maybe one UK reality show left in me.\u201d<\/p>\nThe Traitors is one of the most popular TV shows<\/a> at the moment, and the celebrity version, won by Traitor Alan Carr, was a ratings smash for BBC.<\/p>\nBrian is open to doing more TV but isn\u2019t sure being a traitor or faithful would suit him.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m not really sure I understand The Traitors,\u201d he admitted.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think I\u2019d mess the whole thing up and I\u2019d probably be gone first.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen Arthur and I shot our documentary about becoming parents, we were offered more, but at the time we said no.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo I do think there is a reality show left in me, but I don\u2019t know what it looks like right now.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Six O\u2019Clock Show<\/a> host added that making a cameo on a soap is on his bucket list.<\/p>\n\u201cI\u2019d love to be on a soap, more specifically on Emmerdale<\/a>,\u201d he gushed.<\/p>\n\u201cI got the chance to meet some soap stars and interview them for Corriedale, and Emma Atkins, who plays Charity Dingle, decided I could play a new character, Danny Dingle, because I have a beard and I\u2019m Irish.<\/p>\n
\u201cI just want to throw a drink in someone\u2019s face and slap them in a Christmas<\/a> special. That\u2019s the dream!\u201d<\/p>\nBrian is an established presenter at this point in his career but admits he is still grafting.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m a grafter no matter what,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen I was on the radio and telly every single day, I was still picking up a corporate gig or a collaboration or hosting an event if I could.<\/p>\n
\u201cI don\u2019t think being a grafter ever leaves you.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think if you are lucky to be in a situation where you can be selective, that\u2019s the dream \u2013 also knowing what is for you, and what\u2019s not for you, as opposed to being selective.\u201d<\/p>\n
Brian has had highs and lows in his TV career but now knows which projects are the right for him, such as The Six O\u2019Clock Show and The Salvage Squad.<\/p>\n
He added: \u201cSometimes you get approached for something and it might not be the right fit.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere is some stuff that doesn\u2019t work out, and then you put yourself forward for shows that you don\u2019t get hired for.<\/p>\n
\u201cI suppose I\u2019m lucky with the age I am that I\u2019ve been doing it for such a long time now, Virgin Media<\/a> knows what would and wouldn\u2019t work for me.<\/p>\n\u201cIt has taken years of hard work trying to get to this place.<\/p>\n
\u201cI spent so many years in the UK working on some amazing shows and I also spent a lot of time working on shows I didn\u2019t particularly enjoy, because I was doing it for either the profile or the money.\u201d<\/p>\n
Brian will never rest on his laurels and hopes his broadcasting career continues into his 50s and beyond.<\/p>\n
He said: \u201cI\u2019ll be 50 in three years. Will I still be working in broadcasting?<\/p>\n
\u201cI don\u2019t know, but for now I enjoy doing it and there\u2019s not a day going by where I\u2019m not grateful or I take it for granted.<\/p>\n
\u201cI won Big Brother<\/a> 25 years ago and in that time I\u2019ve messed up, I\u2019ve made mistakes, but those things get you to the place you need to be.<\/p>\n\u201cI think I\u2019ll be working until I\u2019m 70.\u201d<\/p>\n
