The 51st edition of France\u2019s top C\u00e9sars awards is getting underway in the storied L\u2019Olympia concert hall in central Paris this evening and Deadline is following the event live.<\/p>\n

In early prizes, Paul Thomas Anderson<\/a>\u2019s One Battle After Another won Best International Film, beating The Secret Agent<\/a>, Black Dog<\/a>, Sir\u0101t<\/a> and Sentimental Value<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Richard Linklater<\/a>\u2019s ode to the French New Wave Nouvelle Vague went into the evening as the frontrunner, with nominations in 10 categories including best director, film, original screenplay and cinematography.<\/p>\n

Other frontrunners include Carine Tardieu<\/a>\u2019s family drama The Ties That Bind Us<\/a>, Dominik Moll<\/a>\u2019s Case 137<\/a> and St\u00e9phane Demoustier<\/a>\u2019s The Great Arch<\/a> with eight nominations each.
