Prince William has given a tellingly confident response about the state of the Royal Family amid the fallout from Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor\u2019s arrest.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
On Thursday, the Prince and Princess of Wales completed yet another royal engagement, visiting the Welsh town of Newtown ahead of the country\u2019s national day, St David\u2019s Day, on March 1.<\/p>\n
During the royal outing, William, 43, and Kate, 44, spent time with volunteer groups at Hafan yr Afon and the Oriel Davies art gallery, and took part in various activities promoting Welsh culture.<\/p>\n
Upon their arrival, the couple were met with cheers from dozens of well-wishers who had turned out in the pouring rain to meet them.<\/p>\n
As William took the time to greet members of the crowd, one local, named Jill Christofides, 65, was lucky enough to speak to him.<\/p>\n
Speaking to reporters after her memorable meeting with the future King, Christofides revealed their poignant conversation amidst a period of turmoil for the Royal Family.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe monarchy is safe in your hands,\u201d she told William, to which he replied: \u201cThank you, that\u2019s very sweet of you.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cWith all that is going on at the moment, there could be a swell against. But I think when you see the time that (William) is willing to spend with the people, I think it\u2019s lovely to see,\u201d Christofides added to the County Times.<\/p>\n
The Waleses\u2019 outing marks the third public appearance they have made since Andrew\u2019s arrest last Thursday<\/a> on suspicion of misconduct in public office.<\/p>\n Kate attended the England v Ireland Six Nations game on Saturday, which was followed by a joint appearance with William at the BAFTA Awards on Sunday<\/a>.
