Radio 2 in the Park will take place at City Park in Stirling, Scotland, from Friday 7 to Sunday 9 August 2026, Scott Mills revealed on Radio 2’s Breakfast Show.<\/p>\n
Radio 2 in the Park is the station\u2019s annual flagship live music event, bringing some of the biggest UK and international artists to cities that may not otherwise host such a large-scale event.<\/p>\n
Over the three-day festival, some of the most loved artists and Radio 2\u2019s presenters will perform across three stages at City Park in Stirling. With tens of thousands of music fans expected to attend, the event promises to be an unforgettable music spectacular. This follows last year\u2019s Radio 2 in the Park which was held in Chelmsford, 2024\u2019s event in Preston and 2023\u2019s festival in Leicester.<\/p>\n
The station \u2013 which is the UK\u2019s most listened to radio station with a weekly audience of 12.7m \u2013 will move to City Park for Radio 2\u2019s favourite three days of the year, with all the action being broadcast on Radio 2, BBC Sounds as well as iPlayer. Many of the station\u2019s presenters will decamp to the city for the weekend and, back by popular demand, a Friday-night DJ party will kick things off ahead of a weekend packed with stellar live performances.<\/p>\n
Helen Thomas, Head of Radio 2 says: \u201cEveryone in the Radio 2 presenter family is hugely excited to be heading to Stirling for our Radio 2 in the Park weekend. When they all found out together that we were going to Scotland, a cheer rang out across the room! We\u2019re now busy building a line-up of some of the world\u2019s most loved artists to perform live for tens of thousands of people in the park, as well as for millions of listeners and viewers at home or on the move.\u201d<\/p>\n
Scott Mills, who hosts the UK\u2019s most listened to Breakfast Show, which attracts a weekly audience of 6.5m listeners, says: \u201cWhat an absolute treat for Radio 2 in the Park to land in Scotland this summer! Every time I\u2019ve DJ-ed in Scotland, I received the warmest welcome, so I truly cannot wait for what promises to be the most brilliant weekend in August. A Scottish crowd is the best crowd. Stirling Council Leader, Cllr Susan McGill said: \u201cWe can\u2019t wait to welcome fans and artists to our amazing city for an unforgettable celebration of world-class live music set to the stunning backdrop of Stirling Castle. While Stirling has a proud track record of successfully staging major music events, Radio 2 in the Park will be our biggest one yet \u2013 so this is incredibly exciting news and a huge boost for the city and the wider region. We will see you there!\u201d<\/p>\n
Stirling\u2019s National Wallace Monument and the Tolbooth live music venue were illuminated in orange to celebrate the upcoming Radio 2 in the Park, coming to the city this August.<\/p>\n
While Radio 2 has covered Celtic Connections and staged numerous outside broadcasts in Scotland over the years \u2013 including the triumphant Glasgow finale of Paddy McGuinness\u2019 Children in Need Challenge in 2024 \u2013 this marks the first major Radio 2 live music event in Scotland since BBC Music\u2019s Biggest Weekend in May 2018 at Scone Castle, Perth. In 2023, Radio 1\u2019s Big Weekend took place in Camperdown Country Park in Dundee.<\/p>\n
