Priyanka Chopra appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Friday, where she shared her excitement about returning to Indian cinema with the upcoming film Varanasi. The film, directed by SS Rajamouli and starring Mahesh Babu, marks Chopra’s first Indian movie in six to seven years. During the show, Chopra described the experience as an adventure and praised Rajamouli\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s direction, underscoring the significance of the project for her career.<\/p>\n
Chopra emphasised the importance of working with Rajamouli, whom she referred to as \u00e2\u20ac\u0153one of India’s talented directors.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n
Speaking to Fallon, Chopra said, \u00e2\u20ac\u0153I haven\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t done an Indian movie<\/a><\/strong> in almost like six or seven years. This movie is called Varanasi, and it is directed by SS Rajamouli, who is one of India\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s most amazingly talented directors. It is going to be an adventure, and I am very excited about it.<\/a><\/strong> April 27!”<\/p>\n She then revealed the scale of the shoot. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Oh my god! We have been filming for 14 months, and we are still filming for another six.” Fallon was surprised to know about the filming duration of the film.<\/p>\n The film is said to be mounted on a massive scale and is being shot in IMAX format. Jimmy Fallon remarked, “The rumours are it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s an epic. It is IMAX!” To which Priyanka confirmed, \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Yes, we have shot it in IMAX format, so it is going to be for IMAX theatres.
