LOS ANGELES \u2014 Academy Award winner Octavia Spencer returns as executive producer for \u201cLost Women of Alaska\u201d and \u201cFeds.\u201d<\/p>\n
This season, \u201cLost Women of Alaska\u201d focuses on the brutal murders of two Alaska Native women, Veronica Abouchuk and Kathleen Jo Henry, and the shocking investigation that led authorities to a sadistic killer.<\/p>\n
\u201cThese indigenous women, their stories deserve to be told, seen and resolved,\u201d Spencer told Spectrum News. \u201cThe strength within the community deserves to be heralded.\u201d<\/p>\n
Spencer said that if people didn\u2019t feel like they could hunt women and not suffer any consequences, then perhaps there would be fewer crimes against the community.<\/p>\n
What\u2019s needed to curb violence against women?<\/p>\n
\u201cA lot more man-hours on solving these cases,\u201d said Spencer.<\/p>\n
On \u201cFeds,\u201d Spencer told Spectrum News it\u2019s a way to honor America\u2019s most elite crime-fighting unit, and the show highlights the different cases that they solve.<\/p>\n
Being an executive producer, Spencer said, is the most important role she has done because it has allowed her to amplify stories like the ones in \u201cThe Lost Women of Alaska\u201d and \u201cFeds.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Lost Women of Alaska\u201d is now airing on ID. \u201cFeds\u201d will air weekly starting March 4 on ID. Both projects will be available to stream on HBO Max.<\/p>\n
