There\u2019s a famous quote: \u201cApril is the cruelest month\u201d. I don\u2019t know if that\u2019s true, but I do know March is the coolest month. There\u2019s a ton of great stuff coming to the Arsht Center, and we\u2019ve got all the deets.<\/p>\n
Miami music lovers, listen up! Sounds will abound in the Magic City next month, courtesy of the Adrienne Arsht Center.<\/p>\n
Suzette Espinosa Fuentes: \u201cMarch, here in the Arsht Center, in this beautiful Knight Concert Hall, we\u2019re going to have two back-to-back nights of extraordinary music.\u201d<\/p>\n
Bet you want to know who\u2019s playing!<\/p>\n
Suzette Espinosa Fuentes: \u201cOne is Pink Martini, the little orchestra with a big heart, and then we also have one night only with Lisa Loeb and Joan Osborne. It is a tribute to the ladies of the 90s.\u201d<\/p>\n
Joan and Lisa hit the road together because, after all, they\u2019re sisters in song.<\/p>\n
Joan Osborne: \u201cLisa and I are both celebrating the 30th anniversary of our initial big release albums.\u201d<\/p>\n
Lisa Loeb: \u201cAnd it just seemed like a good match because we do very different things, and so my audience gets to discover what Joan is doing and reconnect with what she\u2019s done in the past, and her audience gets to do the same with me.\u201d<\/p>\n
The ladies are scheduled to do individual sets. But there\u2019s always the chance they\u2019ll wind up sharing the stage.<\/p>\n
Joan Osborne: \u201cWe talked about that, and it would be nice if we could, but I wouldn\u2019t guarantee that. I wouldn\u2019t tell people, \u2018Yes, we\u2019re gonna do that,\u2019 and then have them be disappointed if we can\u2019t get it together.\u201d<\/p>\n
Lisa\u2019s definitely jazzed about the gig at the Arsht Center.<\/p>\n
Lisa Loeb: \u201cIt\u2019s a beautiful theater, and we look forward to seeing a lot of people there. We\u2019ll be playing our hit songs that people are so excited about.\u201d<\/p>\n
Pink Martini just might be the perfect band for Miami\u2019s multi-cultural music scene.<\/p>\n
Storm Large: \u201cBecause we represent so many walks of life and we sing in so many different languages, yet every song speaks to a basic human emotion.\u201d<\/p>\n
Crowds all over the country have been digging the sound of the Martini. No doubt that will continue in the Magic City.<\/p>\n
Storm Large: \u201cAnd hopefully in Florida, you guys get the same sense. Only it\u2019ll be nicer \u2019cause I can wear smaller clothes.\u201d<\/p>\n
Here\u2019s a fun fact: once upon a time, Lisa Loeb\u2019s sister, Debbie, worked right here at Deco.<\/p>\n
