This time, it\u2019s the use of OK Computer<\/em>\u2019s \u201cLet Down\u201d in a video promoting ICE<\/a>. The video shows people purported to be the victims of \u201ccriminal illegal alien violence,\u201d per NBC News<\/a>. The Trump, White House, and DHS social media accounts also shared the video, part of ICE\u2019s \u201cThis is our why\u201d campaign to justify violent crackdowns across America. Radiohead issued a statement that was to the point: \u201cWe demand that the amateurs in control of the ICE social media account take it down. It ain\u2019t funny, this song means a lot to us and other people, and you don\u2019t get to appropriate it without a fight,\u201d the band wrote. \u201cAlso, go fuck yourselves.\u201d<\/p>\n Radiohead is just the latest to object to their image and music being hijacked by the Trump administration. SZA called<\/a> the use of her viral Saturday Night Live <\/em>song in a video depicting DHS handcuffing people \u201cEvil n Boring.\u201d Sabrina Carpenter<\/a> objected to her song \u201cJuno\u201d being used in a White House video in much the same was as SZA. The White House doubled down<\/a> on Carpenter, taking her SNL <\/em>promo video with Marcello Hern\u00e1ndez and implying he is an undocumented immigrant. So don\u2019t expect contrition from DHS just because Radiohead told them to fuck off. They\u2019re not Scott Tenorman.<\/p>\n
