Actress Erica Durance <\/a><\/strong>is opening up about playing Daily Planet reporter Lois Lane in the hit WB series, Smallville<\/em>, which had a 10-season run until 2011.<\/p>\n During a February 2026 Smallville<\/em> panel at Fan Expo Vancouver<\/a>, alongside her castmatesTom Welling<\/a><\/strong>, who played Clark Kent, and Kristin Kreuk<\/a><\/strong>, who played Lana Lang, Durance said she once walked off the show’s set. The actress, who joined the show during its 4th<\/a> season, said she was annoyed by her co-star Michael Rosenbaum<\/a><\/strong>. She recalled trying to get through a scene with Rosenbaum, who played Lex Luthor, while he was goofing off.<\/p>\n “I think I only had three scenes with [Rosenbaum] and one of them, I left mid-scene and that was at the beginning,” said Durance, causing Kreuk to laugh. “And he was just jacking around when I was trying to say one line and I’m already my own worst enemy and I was like, ‘Screw this crap. I’m out of here.’ And I just left.”<\/p>\n Durance said that Rosenbaum was unaware she was upset.<\/p>\n “Everyone was like ‘Michael you hurt her feelings.’ And he was like, ‘What?’ ‘Cause he’s totally unaware,” quipped Durance.<\/p>\n Welling then explained that “Michael has a very unique process” as an actor, where he’s able to “goof around” and “jump off the walls” right before filming a scene.<\/p>\n “They start to roll the camera and he jumps right in and then the cut and he jumps back out. I don’t really work that way. I kind of have to stay semi-focused,” said Welling on the panel.<\/p>\n Durance has made several appearances on Welling and Rosenbaum’s Smallville<\/em>-themed podcast, Talkville<\/em>. For instance, she recorded a February 2024 episode<\/a>, wherein she shared she was constantly nervous when she first joined the Smallville<\/em> cast.
