The <a target=\"_blank\" data-link-tracking=\"InArticle|Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.express.co.uk\/news\/royal\/2173704\/princess-anne-andrew-arrest-prison\">Princess Royal<\/a> reportedly starts her day with fruit, with a special request for bananas &#8211; overripe and going off.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Former royal chef Darren McGrady told TODAY: &#8220;Princess Anne almost always preferred the bananas almost black &#8211; overripe &#8211; because they digested easier.&#8221; Brown bananas are sweeter because the starch and chlorophyll in the fruit have broken down into sugar. Royals traditionally always eat with cutlery, so <a target=\"_blank\" data-link-tracking=\"InArticle|Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.express.co.uk\/news\/royal\/2172151\/princess-anne-six-nations-scotland-italy\">Anne <\/a>likely eats her overripe bananas in a very specific way. Darren explained: &#8220;First, the ends of the banana are cut off. Then the banana peel is sliced down the middle from end to end so the unpeeled fruit can be opened. The fruit is sliced into circles and eaten with a fork.&#8221; She is known to frequently skip lunch, much the same as her brother <a target=\"_blank\" data-link-tracking=\"InArticle|Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.express.co.uk\/showbiz\/tv-radio\/2173655\/ive-known-king-charles-years-andrew\">King Charles<\/a>, but she doesn\u2019t go hungry.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Princess Anne tends to have an emergency fruit in her bag in case she feels peckish throughout the day. Her daughter, Zara Tindall, revealed: &#8220;She always has a kiwi fruit.&#8221; Kiwis have more vitamin C than an orange and lots of vitamin K.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>She is also known to enjoy kippers, having sent a letter to Fortune Kippers in Whitby North Yorkshire about her fondness for their product.
