According to <a target=\"_blank\" data-link-tracking=\"InArticle|Link\" href=\"https:\/\/lnk.to\/WilliamCatherine\" rel=\"nofollow\">William &amp; Catherine: The Intimate Inside Story<\/a>, a new book by royal editor Russell Myers, the late Queen &#8220;disagreed&#8221; with Meghan&#8217;s wish to wear a veil because she was a divorc\u00e9e.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>He wrote: &#8220;The Queen was upset that Harry had asked the Archbishop of Canterbury to perform the ceremony at St George&#8217;s Chapel, Windsor Castle, instead of the Dean of Windsor, as tradition would dictate.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>&#8220;[Royal author Sally] Bedell Smith described how Meghan &#8216;refused&#8217; to tell the Queen about her wedding dress and had insisted on wearing a veil, which the Queen privately disagreed with, due to her being a divorcee.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Like Meghan, Queen Camilla and Princess Anne &#8211; who were both previously married before their current marriages &#8211; decided against wearing veils or classic white gowns.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>The former working royal was previously married to American film producer Trevor Engelson between 2011 and 2014.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Meghan chose to wear a custom-made veil, which paid homage to all 53 Commonwealth countries.
