The women then reminded the audience that while the brothers\u2019 team hadn\u2019t won gold in over 40 years, theirs stepped up to the top podium just \u201ctwo Olympics ago.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\nThe episode\u2014and playful<\/em> rivalry\u2014took place mere days after the US men\u2019s hockey team received backlash for celebrating their Olympic victory with FBI director Kash Patel and a phone call with President Trump\u2014during which the team laughed as the president joked that he would be \u201cimpeached\u201d for not inviting the U.S. women\u2019s hockey team to the White House as well. The women\u2019s team later declined Trump\u2019s invitation\u2014though, of course, accepted Storrie\u2019s.<\/p>\n\nWrapping up his monologue, Storrie spoke about Heated Rivalry<\/em> and the importance of representation. \u201cMy show speaks to people who are not always represented in hockey,\u201d he said. \u201cSo this is really great to have actual hockey legends here tonight.\u201d <\/p>\n
