After her appearance at Saturday\u2019s Brit Awards to honor her father Ozzy Osbourne, who was posthumously honored with a lifetime achievement award, Osbourne\u2019s visible weight loss sparked concern and criticism online.<\/p>\n
More from The Hollywood Reporter<\/strong><\/p>\n Taking to her Instagram story, Osbourne wrote, \u201cThere is a special kind of cruelty in harming someone who is clearly going through something. Kicking me while I\u2019m down, doubting my pain, spreading my struggles as gossip, and turning your back when I need support and love most. None of it proves strength; it only reveals a profound absence of compassion and character.\u201d<\/p>\n Osbourne then reiterated, \u201cI\u2019m currently going through the hardest time in my life. I should not even have to defend myself. But I won\u2019t sit here and allow myself to be dehumanized in such a way!\u201d<\/p>\n Ozzy Osbourne died <\/a>on July 22, 2025, at 76 years old. During Saturday night\u2019s awards ceremony, Kelly and her mother Sharon accepted the award on Ozzy\u2019s behalf.<\/p>\n \u201cIf Ozzy was here tonight with us, he would be showing us that gorgeous smile that he had and I know he would be so proud to receive this from the country that he loved. So he may not be here, but he left us one amazing body of work that will never be forgotten by the country that made him,\u201d Sharon said.<\/p>\n \u201cThank you for loving my father as much as we do,\u201d Kelly added.<\/p>\n Following her father\u2019s death last year, Kelly opened up <\/a>about her grief, describing it as a \u201cstrange thing\u201d that \u201csneaks up on you in waves.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI will not be ok for a while \u2014 but knowing my family are not alone in our pain makes a difference. I\u2019m holding on tight to the love, the light, and the legacy left behind,\u201d she wrote on her Instagram at the time.<\/p>\n Kelly\u2019s recent comments about her weight loss are not the first time she has spoken out about those commenting on her appearance.<\/p>\n \u201cTo the people who keep thinking they\u2019re being funny and mean by writing comments like \u2018Are you ill,\u2019 or \u2018Get off Ozempic, you don\u2019t look right.\u2019 My dad just died, and I\u2019m doing the best that I can, and the only thing I have to live for right now is my family,\u201d Kelly\u00a0said\u00a0in a since-deleted social media video<\/a> last year. \u201cSo to all those people, fuck off.\u201d<\/p>\n In an interview with Piers Morgan, Sharon defended her daughter, saying, \u201cShe\u2019s lost her daddy, she can\u2019t eat right now.\u201d<\/p>\n Best of The Hollywood Reporter<\/strong><\/p>\n Sign up for THR’s Newsletter<\/a>.
