In his acceptance speech for this year\u2019s Lifetime Achievement Award from SAG-AFTRA<\/a>\u2019s Actor Awards, the Oscar-nominated performer quipped about it being \u201ca little weird\u201d that the distinction was being presented \u201cat the half point of my career.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a little early, isn\u2019t it? I\u2019m still a working actor,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The Indiana Jones alum recalled struggling in the business for 15 years, hopping from acting to carpentry, before landing his big break in Star Wars: Episode IV \u2013 A New Hope<\/a>, which introduced the world to Han Solo<\/a>. He thanked George Lucas<\/a> and Steven Spielberg<\/a>, as well as late casting director Fred Roos<\/a> and late manager Patricia McQueeney<\/a>.<\/p>\n
